Our Latest News - November

November Update

The violas in the barrier baskets grew well this month giving a welcome splash of colour during the grey days of November.

Weekly gardening sessions continued apace. Our thanks to Darren Widdop at the British Legion who donated a large number of spring bulbs some for use in the Memorial Garden and others which our team have begun to plant in several of the small gardens around town including the Peace Garden and the area opposite Site Pizzeria. Hopefully these will make a fine display of colour in the spring.

We were pleased to have a visit from Dr Alison Lewis from the British Fern Society this month, who came to offer advice regarding our plans to create a fernery in a corner of the Patmos site. She was impressed by some of the fern specimens already growing in the town’s gardens.

Discussions continue regarding a new bench for the Patmos area.
