Our Latest News - November

November Update

Work continued throughout November for our members. In cold blustery weather, members of the team planted new, bare root, red roses in Patmos garden. Along with the white rose bushes in the adjoining Sensory garden, we now have both Lancashire and Yorkshire county colours to represent Todmorden’s position on the county border.

Now that Patmos Garden refurbishment is almost complete, discussions are taking place with regard to improving the planting in the Peace Garden, located behind the Town Hall. This is likely to be one of our major projects next year. Also under discussion is the possibility of marking the 2017 centenary year of the Suffragette movement with an appropriate plant colour scheme in one of the garden areas that we tend.

The month concluded with the Mayor’s Civic Reception for the town’s volunteer groups, which members of the team were pleased to attend.
