Our Latest News - November

November Update

The kind weather conditions allowed us to have two gardening sessions outdoors this month. Members spent a sunny Sunday morning weeding and trimming in the Sensory Garden opposite the college, particularly around the roses where bitter cress had invaded. Also a small team made good use of spare bulbs from the barrier basket planting, and put these in some of the planters on the station platform. We hope this will complement the display on the small vintage trailer provided by the Cryer family in memory of their son Steven.

Although it is only November, plans for the planting theme of next year’s hanging baskets for town businesses are already in place; we can expect a ‘country garden’ theme. Plans also continue for the Open Gardens event: watch this space!
