Our Latest News - May & June

May & June Update

May is the month we always replace the spring displays with summer bedding; this is a big job requiring many hands, so we were pleased to get extra volunteers helping this year. At the start of June, to add to the floral display, the hanging baskets are put in place. Many businesses opt into this scheme which helps to make the town attractive in summer. Lengthening days meant that we could resume evening gardening sessions; much time was spent keeping Patmos garden weeded and tidy. Special efforts were also made to tidy at the herb garden opposite the cricket club. Twice weekly garden club sessions were held at Castle Hill school for the children. As usual, in May, we attended the Mayor making ceremony. Also we had our traditional promotional stall at the Country Fair held on Centre Vale Park.
