Our Latest News - March & April

March & April Update

Regular Sunday morning gardening sessions kept the team busy throughout March and April; in particular, the gateway garden opposite Site pizzeria was weeded and planted with insect friendly plants to provide a beautiful spring and early summer flower display. Additionally, two new planters were installed on platform 2 at the railway station. These were filled with good pollinating plants such as calendula, nasturtium and sunflowers to complement the herbs in the IET beds. Castle Hill school garden club resumed in March and weekly lunchtime sessions held for the children. Behind the scenes, strenuous efforts continued to find new sources of funding. April was an exciting month as the Britain in Bloom programme featuring our town, our team and local citizens, was aired on the BBC. A very positive view of Todmorden was presented, and the publicity helped us to recruit new members.
