January Update

Our regular Sunday work sessions continued throughout the month whenever the weather allowed. Extra sessions were incorporated in order to help members of the British Legion do some late planting of bulbs in the memorial garden in Centre Vale Park. Fingers crossed these will bloom successfully. There should be rows of tulips in the area which the B Legion is renovating.

Planning continues for the development of a ‘stumpery’ in the far corner of Patmos garden. The aim is to plant ferns amongst it in this shady area. This is in recognition of Abraham Stansfield, plantsman, a citizen of Todmorden and a fern specialist, who wrote an important book on the subject.
