August Update

Judging may have taken place, but gardening continued with the team as busy as ever, dead heading, tidying and weeding to keep the displays going, despite variable weather.

This month’s main event was the judging of our own garden Competition, and although entries were down, quality was not. The team enjoyed visiting the local gardens and look forward to the presentation evening in October.

Behind the scenes, planning is well under way for winter/spring planting schemes and for new projects that will take us through the year. In particular, we are looking at schemes that will reflect the centenary of the end of World War 1; the planting in the Peace garden we hope will be a major feature of this.
