September Update

Yorkshire in Bloom announced the results for this year’s ‘In Bloom’ competition, and we were pleased to receive a ‘silver-gilt’ certificate, though of course we shall keep striving for gold! It was very pleasing to see the Memorial Garden on centre Vale Park achieve a gold award in their category; well deserved by the team who tend such a beautiful space. Members of our team attended the presentation of awards in York.

With the start of a new term, Castle Hill School young gardeners were busy tidying up, planting spring bulbs and harvesting beans.

Patmos and Sensory garden refurbishments continued, with the replacement of aging lavender bushes, weeding and general tidying. Roses have been chosen and these will be put in place soon.

The team hosted a stall at the Todmorden food festival and the Harvest festival. We collected local fresh herbs and gave out bunches for decoration and cooking. Two enjoyable events.
