May Update

A concerted effort by the team ensured that the summer bedding was put in place in over 35 planters and barrier baskets around the town, including the station. Plants chosen this year include fuchsias, lobelia, petunias in a mix of colours. There are also cinerarias recycled from the winter/spring bedding; their paler leaves will provide an interesting contrast. Sunday morning work sessions also continued.

The young gardeners at Castle Hill school have been very busy sowing seeds of peas, lettuce, beans and sweet corn, tidying up and weeding. We are very grateful to young staff from Robinwood Activity Centre for help with repairs at the school garden, including a new roof covering on the greenhouse.

We are fortunate to have received a generous donation from the Rotary Club this month, in addition to other donations from local businesses. And we have Fielden Factors to thank for 2 excellent picnic benches now installed in Patmos garden, where improvement work is in progress.
