Our Latest News - May

May Update

A very busy month, planting out our yellow themed summer bedding: marigolds, begonias & bacopa, colours chosen to celebrate the Tour de Tod, plants chosen for their resilience to Pennine downpours. With the kind help of Alison Walker, a member of St Mary’s church, the actea plants from the Fielden Wharf containers were moved to the churchyard opposite the main door, where they are thriving. Look out for new planting soon on the Wharf.

Pupils at our Castle Hill school garden have been busy growing veggies & flowers from seed, some of which was collected from their plants last year. Their bee friendly sunflowers & calendula will soon be ready for planting out in the Community herb garden.

Several of our members attended the Mayor making ceremony; we were delighted to receive a citizenship award. We appreciate the support that Todmorden Council continues to give us. We were also happy this month to receive a very positive report from the Yorkshire in Bloom judges’ spring visit. Lots to do now in preparation for their summer inspection.
