Our Latest News - March

March Update

The pace as well as the weather is warming up now that we are into ‘summer time’. Yorkshire in Bloom judges make their spring visit on the 9th of April, so we are working hard to make sure everything looks its best.

In the Rotary garden, we have replaced the crocuses ruined by pigeons with primulas; we have also had a spring clean in the Butterfly Garden clearing the way for the butterflies and pollinators; meanwhile the Community herb garden across from the Cricket Club is looking refreshed after a thorough tidying & weeding by IET and ourselves. Currently we are planning an information board with IET to identify the herbs in the Community garden to encourage people to pick them. If you are passing why not take a few sprigs of fennel or Rosemary to use in your cooking. Castle Hill school lunchtime garden club is back in action and we already have calendula seedlings growing well, some of which are destined for the Community Herb garden in the summer.

Our plans for the Tour de Tod are now taking bicycle shape; expect some eye-catching displays in early summer!

A big thank you to the local businesses who continue to support us with generous donations.
If you have a few minutes to spare go and have a look at the splendid display of hellebores in Patmos garden.
