Our Latest News - July

July Update

A very busy month for the team, starting with the visit by the Yorkshire in Bloom judges; they were given an extensive tour of the town’s garden sites including the Memorial garden in the park and Castle Hill primary school, followed by a delicious lunch provided by our members; in the afternoon, they visited community gardening sites with the Incredible Edible team. Fingers crossed for a pleasing award!

Members met weekly to garden, working hard in Patmos garden to remove weeds and refresh planting; eventually roses will be planted in the area adjoining the Sensory garden. New path surfaces were laid by contractors which will make them more durable and tidier.

Members attended the Academy of Urbanisation event; Todmorden is in the final three of the competition organised by this government sponsored initiative.

The judging for our annual Garden Competition took place and as usual there were many fine entries with lovely well tended gardens to see. Many thanks to all those who entered.
