Our Latest News - February

February Update

Our members met regularly this month on Sunday mornings to work on the public flower garden spaces that we tend. We began work on the Peace Garden behind the Town Hall, by removing most of the snowdrops for transplanting at a later date. Some were used for the new raised bed situated on the Halifax road/ Myrtle street junction, which is now in place and fully planted. This was sponsored by the Rotary Club in aid of the ‘Purple4polio’ charity that they are supporting.

As usual, we have entered the Yorkshire in Bloom annual competition, which is part of the national ‘in Bloom’ RHS event. This year we have opted for the summer judging only.

Dates were agreed for our ‘Open Gardens’ event, which will be held in July on the weekend of the 15th – 16th.
