August Update

Despite a cold spell of weather later in the month, the summer bedding displays continued to look bright and cheerful. The new planting in the large containers on Fielden Wharf grew well, with the yellow marigolds and golden marjoram contrasting well with the dark leaved box plants: good combination to have edible herbs and beautiful flowers. We hope that people will make use of some of the herbs; and remember there is an abundance of herbs at the Community Herb garden opposite Todmorden Cricket Club.

The sunflowers grown from seed and planted in Pollination Street by pupils from Castle Hill school are all growing well and will soon be fully in bloom. Many thanks to the young people responsible for these cheerful & impressive flowers; they should look really grand for the Harvest Festival.
